June 2011 – Deb Chatfield
Being the start of Winter, June has seen attendance drop with common excuses of too cold, or too windy. Not for Deb Chatfield who has maintained her consistent training regime with the usual high intensity.
Deb runs fast, lifts heavy and punches hard. The Trainers and I all appreciate her effort. I also appreciate that Deb loves to laugh at training, but she knows when it’s time to get stuck in and work hard.
More recently Deb has taken her enjoyment of running to another level, completing the 8km run last Saturday in preparation for City2Surf. Well done Deb!

Jen "The Brawler" Bombaci
May 2011 – Jen Bombaci
Yes you read that correctly – Jen Bombaci again!
For the first time since October 2009, we have a previous winner to take the crown for a second time. The amazing thing is, Jen only won the award in March this year. She went very close again in April and was a clear choice for May.
Just like in March, Jen wins the award for consistency, balance in her training program, intensity and effort at sessions, and the wonderful personality she brings to Oxygen.
At a time in life when many would slow down and take it easy, Jen has gone up another level and even embraced an extra VIP session each week to acclerate her results.
For the entire season of Autumn, Jen Bombaci has been Oxygen’s standout performer and inspiration to all. Well done Jen!
April 2011 – Kellie Haworth

Kellie & Laura
Kellie has been training at Oxygen since May 2010 when she enrolled in our Boot Camp. She has maintained one of the most consistent training programs of any of our members, apart from the odd holiday.
Kellie has mixed up her training sessions between mornings and nights and often both in one day. Even more recently during the school holidays she has thrown in the off 9:30am session for a three in one day routine.
What I particularly like is that Kellie keeps her training balanced. She completes the two strength sessions each week, she boxes hard and makes a good pad holder, she works on her flexibility each Friday and even though she’ll happily tell you she ain’t much of a running fan, she does it Wednesdays, some Thursdays, and most Saturdays (including last Saturday in the pouring rain!).
Thoroughly deserved Kel, well done!

Rochelle Manczak
March 2011 – Rochelle Manczak
Rochelle started with Oxygen in November 2010. She completed her 4 week “test drive” just before Christmas and has since joined for 12 months.
In that time, myself and many others have seen Rochelle’s fitness levels improve significantly. This girl can run, box, lift, and do it all at high intensity. It’s particularly pleasing for me because of how she does these things, with her technique at boxing and certain strength exercises having improved dramatically since day one.
Rochelle is a pleasant and friendly person who thoroughly deserves this award after narrowly missing out to Blue team member and Chief Jen Bombaci last month.
If her availability is good next Challenge Week, then watch out! We just may see a competivite side to her that could help the Blues to victory. Congratulations Rochelle!
February 2011 – Jen Bombaci

Jen "The Brawler" Bombaci
Jen’s journey at Oxygen began in February 2010. She initially started with a 4 week Boot Camp with her friend Jo and 25 other Boot Camp debutants.
Since day one Jen has fitted in and gotten on famously with all her training buddies. More importantly Jen has been inspirational in achieving fitness levels better than woman half her age.
The highlights of Jen’s training have involved running a 5km Fun Run with me last March in awful humidity, doing tricep dips in a puddle during our wettest session of 2010, throwing an intercept pass to Ali during our State of Origin touch footy clash, and being an integral part of the Blue Team during Challenge Week.
Having recently retired, Jen has stepped up her training through January and February earning Performance Points at every session she has attened. She’s certainly earned this award, along with the reputation as a “Brawler” at our Boxing sessions. Well done Jen!
January 2011 – Brydie Abbott

Brydie & Dave
It gives me great pleasure to annouce Brydie Abbott as our January Member of the Month. Brydie has made a whirlwind start to 2011 attending sessions morning and night and training with intensity and purpose.
It is especially well deserved as Brydie, along with her partner Joel, were Oxygen’s very first two clients attending our Launch Day back on 11 October 2009.
Brydie has a powerful punch with great body technique. She has total body strength, with one of the best squats you will ever see, and is world famous for abdominal training and her interval workout music instructions of “suck it in”.
Brydie has gone close to winning this award several times but is a standout this month for a long waiting and thoroughly deserved Member of the Month Award.
December 2010 – Holly Fogarty
November 2010 – Geoff McIntyre

Geoff & Dave
The man who EVERYONE knows! Geoff is a guy who can be seen working hard at any timeslot, be that 6am, 9:30am or the 6pm group sessions.
He does Core work, Strength, and has a much improved Boxing technique but it is running where his obvious strength lies.
Geoff is fast enough to challenge anyone at our Interval Runs and has the stamina to clock up plenty of kilometres at our Saturday Run Squad. He is our reigning King of Interval Run from the Oxygen Awards night and recently took out 3rd place in the Kiama Fun Run.
Congratulations Geoff Mac, you are a worthy recipient of our Member of the Month award.
October 2010 – Emilco Dimovski
Earlier this month we announced our Member of the Year, which included all Oxygen sessions from 11 October 2009 – 11 October 2010. To start our second year of operation and the first Member of the Month award for October, I’m pleased to announce another male, Emilco Dimovski.
Emilco has been training with Oxygen for about four months after previously exercising outdoors in Shellharbour. His attendance is consistent, usually only missing sessions while away for work in Canberra. Emilco also has a very well balanced fitness program mixing solid boxing technique, strength and core with flexibility work on Friday mornings.
Emilco is a quietly spoken guy who has mixed in well since turning up to a training group by himself and not knowing a single person. Since then he has shown himself to be one of those people who works hard at anything he does and is a deserved winner of our October Member of the Month. Well done!
September 2010 – Alison Crofts
Ali’s journey with Oxygen began in April this year after being referred by her friends Kerry Philps and Kate Dickson.
She hit the jackpot straight away scoring herself a 28% discount on her membership with Dave’s Birthday Sale. Since then there has been no discounts on her health and fitness routine.
Ali has trained consistently morning and night through the cooler months of the year and has developed a great all round level of fitness. She is strong and is regularly asked to “flex her guns”, she puts the hard yards in at Core sessions and is always one of the top 3 runners at any Interval Run. In fact, just recently Ali ran the half marathon, yes that’s 21km, in 1 hour 56 mins.
For training hard, always smiling and usually bringing a cheeky humour to class, Ali Crofts is our September Member of the Month! Congratulations!
August 2010 – Renee Miller
I first met Renee about 3 years ago when she attended a Boxing session for Sydney Waters Corporate WellnessProgram. I was immediately impressed by her fitness level, and she has continued to inspire those around her at every aspect of training.
I knew she was a Kiama resident and an ideal client for my new business, but when I emailed Renee to inform her of the news she was off on maternity leave with baby Max.
Through a chance meeting though, I told her Oxygen was starting up and she was one of the first to join late last year.
Renee is strong (although she plays it down), runs like the wind, has awesome core strength (or as some Members will tell you “abs of steel”) and could put a 4 hit combo on you before you can blink.
With two gorgeous kids, Ivy and Max, Renee is a perfect example of how leading a healthy active lifestyle can help mums get their bodies into trim, taut and terrific shape.
Well done Renee!
July 2010 – Julie Forster
Julie first started at Oxygen with her daughter Tenielle in our March Boot Camp. Being an outdoor exerciser anyway (doing cycling and the odd run), Julie was immediately hooked on Oxygen and has since signed on for a year.
She is particularly good at Boxing (where she’s rarely seen doing push up penalties) and also Running. This has been evident in the past at Relay For Life (where she completed 105 laps, equivalent of a marathon) but more recently her participation in the City2Surf training runs on Saturdays.
Battling sore knees, Saturday work schedules and babysitting grandkids, Julie has run 6km, 8km, 10km & 12km runs and thrown the grueling Pheasant Point Drive at the end of each run.
For being a pleasant, friendly and hard working sucker for punishment, Julie Forster is our July Member of the Month. Congratulations Julie!
June 2010 – Kylie Starling
It is with great pleasure that we announce Kylie as our June Member of the Month.
Kylie is one of our longest serving members, and at some of her first classes she was even well outnumbered by Trainers.
Kylie can be seen training at any timeslot, be that 6am, 9:30am or 6pm and always trains hard at every aspect of fitness. She is strong, has stamina and doesn’t quit.
Along with introducing both her husband Wayne and friend Kerry to Oxygen, Kylie was the first parent to register their child in our July Fit Kids Camp.
Not only does she bring a great vibe and energy with her to every class but she is always very friendly and approachable.
Congrats Kylie, you are a very deserving winner.
May 2010 – Shane McCauley
Shane first started with Oxygen when he joined our March Boot Camp. Shane was going to the gym but infrequent visits and lack of motivation were affecting his results.
Since joining Oxygen he has been one of the highest achievers in all areas of fitness, from strength (don’t share a barbell with him) to speed & endurance at running and surprisingly for a male, flexibility.
Shane is friendly, funny and talkative with all Oxygen Members. It’s also great to see another male stepping up to claim our Member of the Month award. Congrats Shane!
Another important note about Shane is that he has introduced his daughter Keeleigh, who has since joined on a Student Rate. If other Members have children or relatives who are full-time students and wish to come along, please see the Members section of our website for details. Terms & conditions apply.
April 2010 – Lisa Smith
Lisa’s journey with Oxygen began on 1st February when she signed up for the 4 week Boot Camp. She didn’t know anyone but quickly found her partner in crime, Carole, and they became friends and workout buddies.
Lisa set one of her goals initially to attend every day of the 4 week Boot Camp and succeeded. There was one morning she was forced to miss due to work commitments but she made up for it by attending that night. This 100% attendance has continued through to now and has even included Saturday morning Boxing sessions.
Due to her 100% attendance, her work ethic, positive attitude and increasing fitness levels, Lisa at our Fitness Assessment had lost a staggering 42cm from her body and dropped TWO dress sizes.
Well done Lisa! It’s an absolute pleasure to train you and we apprecitate the energy and dynamics you bring to Oxygen sessions.

Judy & Dave
March 2010 – Judy Franklin
Judy has only been with us at Oxygen for a short time, but it’s been long enough to prove her worth very quickly.
She started with our Boot Camp in February and has now joined up on a yearly Membership attending every morning and some nights. For someone who was reluctant to try Boxing, she has proved to be a smash hit. Running? No probs, give her a steep hill any day. Strength? She lifts as much as the guys and makes jump lunges look easy. Core? How about a 3 minute plank!!
Judy’s fitness level is above most people half her age and an inspiration to many. She has a very friendly nature, a bright personality and thoroughly deserves our Member of the Month award for March. Great work Judy!

Dave & Brad
February 2010 – Brad Moore
Brad has provided a great boost in intensity to sessions since joining Oxygen in late January, thanks to his friend Renee Miller.
He works hard at different sessions on the Group Training timetable but he’s especially strong at the Interval Run classes. Besides his fitness levels, Brad has provided good encouragement and a bit of cheeky humour to spur on other participants. Brad has referred 2 of this friends, Mark Burns and Nicole Moore, who have also become Oxygen members.
It’s great to see a male finally stepping up to take out our Member of the Month award. Well done Brad.

Kerry & Dave
January 2010 – Kerry Philp
What a meteoric rise! From out of nowhere Kerry appeared at Oxygen thanks to the Gift A Friend Voucher gifted to her by another Oxygen member, Kylie Starling.
From the outset Kerry has trained morning and night almost everyday throughout January. She has a great work ethic, a very good fitness level in strength, cardio and flexibility and a very friendly, funny personality. This probably goes a long way towards explaining why 3 of Kerry’s friends have followed her along to Oxygen this month.
So for bolting out of the blocks on her 2010 fitness regime and being a referral machine, Kerry not only gets some FREE training and cash rewards but the notoriety of being our January Member of the Month. Congrats Kerry!

Dave & Tanya
December 2009 – Tanya Kember
Since starting at the end of October Tanya has attended both 6am AND 6pm sessions almost everyday and I could count on one hand the number of sessions she has missed.
Tanya juggles work, motherhood, travel from out of town and a photography course but still manages to make exercise a priority in her life.
Tanya has been coming out of her shell more and more as a person and revealing a quirky and hilarious personality which makes group training sessions all the more enjoyable. Although she confesses to not being a quick runner, she turns up, gives her best and makes up for it with quick witted comments. Well done Tanya!!

Dave & Sue
November 2009 – Sue O’Leary
A big shout out to long term client and friend Sue O’Leary who is away in Cairns celebrating her 30th wedding anniversary to Peter. Sue has come along way from the shy, timid person I caught up with earlier this year in April. Despite telling me she wasn’t sure if outdoor training was for her and worrying about this that and the other, Sue has committed to both Personal Training and Group Sessions all year.
Above that, Sue has committed to me personally and was the first person to follow my business from Wollongong to Kiama. Despite living in Cordeaux Heights, Sue trains on average about 4 times a week and has introduced her friend Lyn Wilkshire. Together at classes Lyn and Sue are a hilarious double act and we all enjoy their company. The above examples show just how committed a person Sue O’Leary is and it gives me great pleasure to announce that Sue is our November Member of the Month. Congrats Sue, your mystery prizes await!
