What’s Been Happening?
Boxing Boot Camp
The most recent Super Saturday took on a new theme as the Oxygenators blitzed their way through a Boxing Boot Camp. What had initially been planned for Surf Beach was transferred to Kiama High School and a mix of boxing rounds, battle ropes, tyre flips, kettle bells and more kept everyone gasping for the full hour. The brutal finisher of 1650 punches was a serious test of endurance but everyone survived to fight another day. Just another one of those killer boxing sessions in Kiama. |
New Programs
This week saw the start of a new Program for both FitChicks and Spartans. It’s a shorter program this time around which will take us through until Challenge Week in 5 weeks time.
The FitChicks girls have some new exercise pairings which have tested them out in different ways. There’s also three new moves including wall ball, box jumps and an Olympic lifting movement called the snatch.
The Spartans have taken on two new Crossfit workouts in the one session. It’s a great challenge for all involved because one is completely bodyweight and the other is all barbell. Either way it’s gunna get you at some point.
Carmen Mankowski
A quiet achiever Carmen Mankowski takes out the top spot for this week with performance points scored in all sessions, but particularly INTERVAL RUN. As well as racing up the steepest hills in Kiama, Carmen has been putting in a massive effort behind the scenes in our Precision Nutrition Course. A late entry into this course, Carmen is making up for lost time with consistently strong results. Well done Carmen, you are on a roll and the sky’s the limit.
