Welcome to another edition of the Oxygen Fitness Weekly Wrap. Celebrations are counting down to the greatest month in our year, OXOBER. It’s like that old analogy of a duck on a pond seemingly cruising across the water when under the surface his little feet are kicking like crazy to propel him forward. On the surface we’re just going about our usual Oxygen affairs but behind the scenes there’s plenty going on. Over the next few weeks you’ll find out all about it! Read on to grab your latest dose of Oxygen…
Your life depends on it!

Smash Singlets available
Orders for the below Saddleback Smash singlets can still be placed by Oxygen clients as late as 2pm today. I encourage everyone to grab this collectors item which will also give you another training singlet you can wear at Oxygen. 100% of the proceeds for these singlets goes directly to Kiama Rotary Club so please help us raise as much as we can for them.
We introduced a couple of new ladies into Kiama FitChicksClub this week.Their names are Helen, Fran and Annie and they’re NOT very popular. They’re here on a 3 week visit and I can’t say they’ll be welcomed back anytime soon by the sounds of the feedback I’m getting!
To be clear, Helen, Fran and Annie are actually the names of 3 crossfit style workouts combining muscular endurance and high intensity cardio. It’s hard work but just the tonic to get these girls prepped for Challenge Week series 7.
Challenge Week Preparations
We’ve started the process of allotting new clients and Boot Campers into Teams. It’s not an easy process because some people come to us through advertisements, via Google searches or via referrals. Then we have the delicate task of ensuring all four teams are as even as possible. Then there may be a Team that has had several clients drop out of get injured and then you want to consider which Teams suffered with less numbers last time and deserves “first pick at the draft” of new clients available.
One of the strengths of Oxygen Challenge Week is the evenness of the contest and that the victories have been shared around. All of the Teams have won it before, all of the Teams have tasted defeat. Despite what some clients may think, I don’t plan it that way. The even across six Challenge Week Series spanning 3 1/2 years is due to the above mentioned client allotment.
I can tell you the BLUES have done very well from the “draft.”
The YELLOWS and REDS welcome back some Challengers as well as recruiting a few through referrals.
The GREENS have lost a few, gained a few.
The Teams will appear even on paper, as they always do. It’s the Team with consistently high numbers, not excuses, that will go a long way toward winning the week.
If you have any friends/family that missed out on our current BootCamp but would like to get involved we have 2 OXOBER Specials coming up they can take advantage of:
3 weeks for $149 (Challenge Week is first week)
12 weeks for $468 (works out to be $39 per week until Xmas)
(Oxygen reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone we deem an injury risk during Challenge Week Series 7)
New Role for Dave
I’m excited to announce that I was recently nominated and voted in as the Vice President of the Kiama & District Chamber of Commerce. There’s some very talented, proactive people on the board and a positive vibe of things to come. If you own or manage a business in this municipality you simply must be a part of this community. At $110 to join for a year it is incredible value for the networking and relationships you will develop.
